Small Furries

 

Small furries include all our smaller mammal patients that aren’t cats and dogs. Rabbits and small rodents are an increasing part of our patient numbers. Knowledge and understanding of their management and care is rapidly expanding at Woodlands; we aim to provide a reliable service, providing the advice and care required to keep your animals healthy.

We are proud of our separate, dedicated exotic patient ward to ensure your pets are in a calm and quiet environment during their stays with us.

Veterinary services offered for rabbits and rodents

Services and advice we offer include:

  • All our vets are happy to see the majority of small furry patients
  • For more complex cases, our vet Carolize Compton offers a 1st opinion exotic service 2 days a week
  • In house laboratory for basic haematology, biochemistry, urinalysis and microscopy
  • Use of a dedicated external exotic specific lab for more detailed lab work and blood panels
  • Digital radiography including dental radiography
  • Dental treatment for overgrowths and spurs
  • Ultrasound scanning
  • Fertility advice
  • Neutering
  • Dermatology
  • Diet advice
  • Parasite treatment
