BVSc (Hons) MRCVS – Director
Mike qualified from the University of Bristol in 1981. During his career he has gained invaluable experience in all aspects of veterinary medicine. He founded Woodlands Veterinary Clinic on 3rd August 1992. He currently works in both the equine and small animal departments.
Mike has interest in surgery and performs TTA surgery (tibial tuberosity advancement) for cruciate ligament rupture. He takes particular interest in lameness cases and is keen to take a holistic approach using physiotheraphy, laser and stem cell therapy where appropriate.
BVSc GPCert(FelP) MRCVS – Director
Greg is a dedicated small animal veterinary surgeon who qualified from Onderstepoort University, South Africa in 1990. He has achieved recognition for his special interest in Avian Medicine and Surgery and has expanded his knowledge in Exotic Medicine and Surgery. Greg passed his General Practitioners Certificate in Feline Medicine offered by the European School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies in 2013. He is also a practicing veterinary acupuncturist.
MA VetMB MRCVS – Veterinary Surgeon
Roland enjoys the varied caseload of general practice. His many interests include feline medicine, especially care of the older cat, as well as cardiology, dermatology, dental care and diagnostic imaging.
He also has particular interest in intestinal surgery and has saved the lives of many a pet that has swallowed something that they should not have done! Roland’s ability to explain complex animal health issues in plain English helps to instil confidence in clients facing the trauma of knowing their much-loved pet may need to have to undergo surgery.
BVM&S BSc MRCVS – Veterinary Surgeon
After doing a degree in Animal Science at Wye College, London University, Tamsin graduated from Edinburgh in 1997. She worked in mixed practice in Norfolk and Evesham before joining Woodlands in 2004. Tamsin is one of our part-time vets and has an interest in feline medicine.
BVMedSci (Hons) BVM BVS (Hons) MRCVS – Veterinary Surgeon
Mark qualified as a veterinary surgeon at the University of Nottingham in 2014. Having spent the past three years working in a practice in Hemel Hempstead, Mark has moved back to Cheltenham where he attended Warden Hill Primary School as a child. He enjoys all aspects of general practice, especially surgery and diagnostic imaging.
BVetMed (Hons) MRCVS – Veterinary Surgeon
Liv graduated from The Royal Veterinary College, London, in 2017 and worked in a small animal practice in the Cotswolds for the first 18 months of her professional veterinary career. She joined Woodlands in 2018 and enjoys all aspects of practice, including surgery and medicine cases.
Claire has been our consulting nurse for over a decade now and has been nursing in total for more than 25 years. As well as being a fully qualified registered veterinary nurse she has a certificate in clinical animal behaviour. Claire also manages our popular TLC Pet Health Plan and is experienced in advising on puppy and kitten development. Having completed several courses on nutrition and dental care she is happy to advise pet owners on any subject or condition.
Head Veterinary Nurse
Gemma joined Woodlands Veterinary Clinic in Jan 2016. She qualified from Hartpury College with a Bsc Hons in Veterinary Nursing in 2005. After working in many veterinary practices in Cheltenham and Worcester over the last 10 years Gemma has gained a variety of skills in nursing.
Gemma joined Woodlands in August 2018. She qualified from Hartpury College with a BSc Honours in Veterinary Nursing in 2005. Since then she has worked in a variety of practices throughout Gloucestershire and Bristol and has a keen interest in surgery and animal behaviour.
Jeraize began her journey at Woodlands in 2016 as a Student Veterinary Nurse and graduated from Hartpury College in 2018 with a BSc Honours in Veterinary Nursing, before joining team full time. She enjoys all areas of general nursing and inpatient care here at Woodlands, especially caring for feline patients as well as having a passion for horses.
Kate joined the Woodlands team in October 2018 after graduating from Abbeydale Vetlink Veterinary training centre in January 2017 with a Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (QCF). She enjoys all areas of veterinary Nursing with a special interest in surgical nursing and patient care.
